Can GLSL “do” everything that SM3 can at same/similar performance?

I don’t know much about shaders and GLSL seems cool, but SM3 is getting all the hype these days…


You can’t compare this. GLSL are language and SM3 is a hw feature set. SM3 features are right now exposed under few new NV extensions as a expansion for ARB VP/FP instruction set. Developers have to wait for new driver release 65.xx for GLSL with SM3 support.

GLSL are SM infinite.0 compatibile.
