If I convert the world coords into window coords with gluProject, I get WinX, WinY and WinZ??? WinZ??? How do I use that???

speaking seriously (which is the best way to speak, really), winz is a value between 0.0 and 1.0 representing the ratio in the view frustum. ie. all points on the far plane have a winz of 1.0, all points on the near plane have a winz of 0.0, and all points in between have… well… a value inbetween 0.0 and 1.0.

(i can’t remember if it’s linea.r no… it isn’t. of course it isn’t… shutup, john
