texturing a stencil buffered cutaway cap

Hi, Ive got a 3d object on which i implement the cutaway and capping from red book chap 12. What i would like to know is how to put 1 texture in the middle of the filled “cutaway polygon” because i draw a poly using the stencil across the entire screen. When texturemapping directly to the entire creen poly i only get part of the image on the cutaway. I would like to put a texture in the middle of the cutaway, even better I would like to save the cutaway’s coordinates. Could anyone help with this?
