Small suggestion about information about texture format and stuff

The new format descriptions stuff makes software more reliable, fantastic.
Something I read (I’m not entirely sure If I read it right but just want to nip any idea about this in the but.) about mipmaps. And using tree of textures to zoom in with levels. (This description suppose to circumvent the not knowing the word issue.)

Somewhere read that the texture contains the level in such a structure.
This needs to not be done. The levels and structure for such a hierarchical thing should be not as extra information in each texture.
With this it could create confusion about how to use the same texture for multiple locations and other stuff.

Textures should not contains information about where they will be used.
