PlaneShift: Programming Team Member Recruiting

To Whom It May Concern,

Planeshift is a Free Open Source 3D MMORPG in Development that uses OpenGL technology, created by a talented and dedicated team, which has a high level of professionalism within its ranks. Our target is to be the biggest free MMORPG available, with a growing community of developers that can expand the virtual world endlessly, where no commercial product can dare. The client and server code is cross-platform C++, designed for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. We are currently pursuing new members to increase our ranks so that we might be able to produce updates faster, while keeping high quality levels.
We differ from other OpenSource project mainly in the organization, guidance, and task assignment, having tools to track all our progresses and a master plan to follow. Also we already achieved some good targets, having 70.000 users registered and being one of the 50 most active OpenSource projects listed on Sourceforge.

The current release version of PlaneShift allows players to customize the look and the skills of their charcters, visit a part of the main city, collect objects and buy weapons. You can download this version here:

One area that we need more members is the engine department. It includes both client and server areas. I’m sure you can find interesting and stimulating tasks that can range from networking to opengl improvements, from combat rules to GUI, from NPC AI to particle effects.

In particular we are writing to this mailing list to find good OpenGL programmers that can help us improve performances, add new hw functions support and (if applicable to you) work on the MacOSX port.
