Image Shift (frame to frame)

I would like to be able to calculate the pixel shift, frame to frame (the image view has shifted so many pixels to the right and so many down, eg) as a truth value for use in my simulation. I would like to use the viewmatrix to do this. Roll, pitch, yaw and translation in all axes are present. Before I get started, I wanted to check and see that I was attempting a task that was doable.



I want to add some additional info. The main reason for wanting to do this is to further the development of an image registration (IR) technique. IR success requires techniques that accurately estimate the shifts (frame to frame). The availability of “truth” means I can benchmark the various algorithms. I want the truth value to be accurate withing sub-pixel levels (high precision).
