How to make it so it reads the right thing?

I stumbled onto this discussion on the the Mesa discussion archives and it seems that Dying Light is incorrectly checking the “OpenGL version string” reported by glxinfo instead of the “OpenGL core profile version string“. How do I make it so that it reads the “OpenGL core profile version string” ?. Thanks.
