gluSphere lighting problem

Hello! I have a problem with distortion my gluSphere during an animation. I don’t now how to precisely describe this, so I uploaded short video: click. When I turn a lighting off there is no more distortion when a ball comes within lines.
A lighting is based on one positional light with constant attenuation and the light model ambient. The program is created in Java (jogl 1.1.1.a).
What’s the problem ?

I could not see the distortion that u r talking about in the vdo u hve posted?

The bottom edge of the ball seems to be ragged when the ball comes within lines.

If you look at individual images instead of an animation, does it still look ragged? I suspect that the answer is no.

Try a flat color instead of lines for the ground.
