GL_ARB_matrix_palette extension

Does anyone have experience with this extension?

is it useful?

I don’t know if any vendor has implemented it at all. No idea why they voted it through in the ARB if noone planned to support it.

ATi implemented it… once… I think. Modern ATi cards may no longer do so. It was a short-lived extension because it came out just around the release of vertex programs, which made it redundant at best, restrictive at worst.

As far as I know, nVidia never bothered to implement it.

Cheers people i was worried for a minute that i could have done matrix palette skinning much easier with this extension after spending loads of time with vertex progs etc!!
