Could anybody tell me the exact architectural difference between these two GPU’s as far as I know both of them support the Register Combiners Extension, then wtf is the Nvida Shading Rasterizer( NSR) stuff I see on their website?, They say that this was introduced only with Geforce 2 range.
Am sure GeForce 256 also has the same NSR, then what is the actual difference, any pointers to documents comparing the two architectures?
product briefs dont mean jack, they are still guided by the name game and overboasting, was when I downloaded the latest leaked beta drivers 27.42, this was inside its driver info
Geforce 1 and 2 have the same capabilities, thats what’s important. There are some architectural differencies, like I think gf2 has 2 physical texture units per pipeline instead of one, but the only difference in practice is speed.
Whether ‘NSR’ is the Gf2 architecture or the Gf1/Gf2 capabilities is, unless you are particularly interested in marketing terms, irrelevant.
