Are quads rendered as fast as triangles

I thought the video cards where optimized for triangles. I’m new. That’s just what a read in one book. What do you know about this?

You can probably bet that quads are rendered by the driver as 2 triangles anyway, so they should be just as fast.

It’s better to work with triangles. With my card I had problems with working with quads. But this is a thing that is about each card. But the standard is working with triangles.
