Texture Problem: Little dots in games, "snow", "sand"


I seem to be getting these problems in every OpenGL game that I run. Tiny dots sprinkeled all over the screen. The latest 2 games that show this problem are Medal of Honor and IL-2. IL-2 runs perfectly under d3d, but many says it’s considerably faster using OpenGL.

I wonder if there’s a simple fix for this, i.e. an option somewhere that I can turn off to make this problem dissapear.

System specs are:
Celeron II 566 @850mhz
Abit BH6 motherboard
512mb RAM
Visiontek GeForce 3
Detonator 21.83 drivers
Windows 98SE

Oh, BTW, the video card is not overclocked in any way, and I run both games at 1024x768, 32-bit color. Desktop resolution is 1280x960.
