Single-channel Basis compression (like BC4)?

I was wondering if KTX2 is able to store a single-channel image with universal (Basis) compression. The reason for this is to store a compressed image that can be quickly transcoded into BC4 format for PC, and whatever single-channel compressed format mobile chips use.

The KTX2 specification is available. It doesn’t have section links, but you could have just searched for “universal” or “basis universal”.

The reason I am asking here is because I am not smart enough to understand that specification, but it looks like KTX_TTF_BC4_R does exist in the KTX SDK.

But you can search for the word “universal”. It’s all over the spec.
