I doubt it, ibl is a fairly new render technique(5 years??). But search.

IIRC one of nvidia’s papers have a little bit of info regarding Image based lighting. I’ll see if I can find it.

It’s very hand wavy, but gives some simple examples of HDR image-based lighting on GeForce3.

There are some details on the real-time Rendering with Natural Light demo in my SIGGRAPH 2002 Shading Course Notes and a talk I gave at GDC this year .
