I’m using 3DS Max 8 with Collada 1.05. When I apply the Reset Xform “Box Trick” script to my mesh, reapply the skin modifier, I can export the mesh and bones with no problem. The problem is when I try to load up the old envelopes from before I applied the Reset XForm script(since the script deletes all modifiers on the mesh) and THEN try to export the mesh and bones, Max crashes with Collada giving me “fatal exception caught”.
I’ve tried turning off all the options while importing the envelopes, but I still get the same error and crash when exporting to a .dae. I can’t find any differences between before and after importing the envelopes other than the vertex weighting info changing. I’m guessing the only problem could be in the vertex weighting itself, but I can’t find anything unusual that would cause any problems.
Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
