I also have a SiS graphics chipset (740/650) and Call of Duty won’t load, see error dump quoted below. The ironic thing is that I was able to run the Call of Duty DEMO okay, with textures at ‘high’ and dynamic lighting set to best, etc. So thinking that even though SiS wasn’t in the ‘approved’ list of graphics chipsets I went ahead and bought the retail CDROM version of the game. But the ful retail version errors out trying to load, an OpenGL problem apparently. One note: The demo at first refused to load with similar OpenGL error (an ST3 tex comp error), but upon updating the driver for my SiS 740 chipset (cheap combo motherboard w/ integrated video, but as 2nd yr med student budget is crazy tight), but I grabbed a driver update that fixed the error and the demo then loaded and ran well (driver date 10-30-03, obtained via windowsupdate.com).
Usually retail version have optimized code over demo version, maybe so but not for me…
All drivers are newest and WHQL signed.
System:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
PCChips 810DLU v7.5a combo mainboard
512 meg PC2700 DDR RAM
Hitachi 60gig UDMA100 drive
52x24x52 CDR/CDRW
Windows XP Home retail w/ SP1 and all updates
DirectX 9.0b installed and checks okay w/ DXDIAG.EXE (passes all dxdiag’s directdraw, direct3d, directsound tests)
If anyone can please help, really was looking forward to playing COD during precious few hours I have free for PC time.
My friend have an ATI Radeon 7000 64 mo video card. I know that it’s a cheap card but if ATI sell this card, it must work properly!!! When trying to start CoD, the “configure.csv” error happend…The CD’s are OK because I used the same on my computer and CoD works fine. I installed the Catalyst 3.9 driver but it doesn’t work anyway! WTF?! I ever buy NVIDIA product and now I know why…What is the problem with ATI product?!
If someone have any idea to fix this problem, please reply…

So go and complain at the pirates who made an imcomplete rip, dumbass!
Hey, guess what. I downloaded some new maps and couldn’t get CoD to work anymore because I had an impure client (bad pk3) so I finally reinstalled from the disc *because I bought it JACKass) and now I’m getting that error. So you’re wrong AND you’re a JACKass.

FYI.
My problem turned out to be that I had never uninstalled the dawnville demo. Once I did and reinstalled FUll version, everything worked fine.

well i’ve fixed the problem after many hours of frustration. It wasn’t even a driver problem in the end.
For those of you who have matlab 6.5 installed then opengl will cease to work. If you kill it in the task bar then games or anything using opengl will work again.

I figured out the problem. No1 - if you downloaded call of duty, and your using an emulator instead of burning it - this could be the reason your having problems. I can’t explain why it works when you burn it, but it worked for me. I was having the problem of “configure.csv is missing” but when I burned it and re-installed it… for some reason it worked fine. So if your using the pirated one… this might work for you. If you bought… I have no idea.
P.s. you still have to copy over the crack.
Well done that man…
But now when i start a new game it comes up with the following error:
delayed-load image ‘skins/sand@sides_sandbag’ changed from 0x0 type 0x0000 with mipmaps to 512x512 type 0x83f1 with mipmaps
The zero’s could be 'o’s because its in a really stupid font.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Well, some other forum has said i need new nvidia drivers, but that still didnt solve my 'delayed-load image ‘skins/sand@sides_sandbag’ ’ error im afraid. Anyone got any bright ideas?
Someone suggested sticking to directx version9 instead of 9b somewhere, but how the hell do i do that? where do i find version 9 and unintall the current version?

Your video card appears to be missing one or more features required to run Call of Duty.
You should install the latest drivers for your video card, being sure to uninstall the old drivers first. If you already have the latest drivers, you should completely uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them. This fixes most problems. If the game still doesn’t work, it may be that your video card does not have the minimum features required. Please check the readme for more information, including a list of supported video cards.
wraith i have the exact same problem as your by that i mean the same video card SiS… and i dont know either - so if any one can help wraith and myself it will be very much appreciated
thanks
