unable to create direct context rendering

when i run the code it gives error like

“unable to create context rendering for window”
when i run glxinfo command

direct rendering: NO

I restarted the system two times then it gave

direct rendering: Yes

but it is not consistent

Rusty on this, but it looks like it’s an xserver and GLX configuration issue.

Inconsistency of direct rendering is strange. NVIDIA doesn’t use the standard DRI (direct rendering infrastructure) as far as I know but they have their own equivalent that’s ABI compatible.

Make sure you’re using the full driver stack and x server GLX extension from NVIDIA. It may be that you’ve installed NVIDIA’s driver but it’s not compatible with the XSERVER and the glx extension to it.
