Texture Memory

Does anyone here know of a function or toolkit that can give me back the texture memory use on the current video card a app is running on? Im working on a 3d engine that uses both directx and opengl, and need a function that is compatible with gl, that tells me the current texture memory on the video card, or max memory. Can anyone help, I would appriciate it.


This is a FAQ, and the answer is “there is no such function, and putting one in would be futile, for various reasons”.
