Texture Mapping to split windows

I am having trouble displaying bitmaps. I want to display different bitmap files to an opengl window split into 4. I have the split window stuff done thanks to the site below.

I modified the code from there to try and load the bitmaps in the openglwnd class. I used code that does work for a single window
to map a bitmap.

When I try and map to the split windows the program grinds to a halt. Can you guys tell me how this should be done properly?

I am using 24 bit ms bitmaps, 512x512
