texture coordinates

I know that this subject does´nt have much to do with OpenGL itself, but never the less someone out there must have encountered the same problem as i am facing now.
I have made a program that loads 3D-Studio objects from the ASE format. But when i try to load the texture coordinates from the file they all get wrong when i mapp them in my OGL program. I know that the ASE file format provides three texture values/vertexes, are the first two the U and the V (x and y)?
And the third what is that?
Is it used to get the correct texture values or what? Or is it just provided for 3D textures?
Please help me or i´ll go crazy!
