Stencil Buffer Tutorial?

I am trying to find a good tutorial that will teach me how how the stencil buffer works and how it can be used to do reflections/projections/shadowing. Trying to stay broad because I want to learn the concepts and not just how to do certain tasks with it. Anyone know of a good tutorial out there on the web? (besides the NeHe ones)

Go to and download there OpenGL SDK. There’s a whole bunch of source code for your viewing pleasure.
