I have written a program that allows the user
to navigate through a simple world of objects
at 100fps.When i translate along xz i get
smooth results but when i rotate the viewport
using Rotatef the objects seem to flicker or tear.
Can someone please tell me why this accurs.

try using glLookAt() instead… someone said transparency has problems when using Translate/rotate on a large scale…

Make sure your using double buffering you may also want to decrease the amount of degree you rotate.
