Problems with Nvidia opengl 3.0 driver.

Hi!
I tried to install the new Nvidia driver with opengl 3.0 implementation on my Dell Presision M4300 with a Quadro FX 360M.
According to the Nvidia page my card should be supported by this driver, but the Installprogram tells me, that it cant find a driver for my card.

You have a laptop ? Then you can’t install it because of Dell.
Try this :

By the way, I would like to understand the official reasons from Nvidia/AMD and the laptop manufacturers to prevent the graphic driver updates on laptops.

This is REALLY annoying, for a lot of people.

This is not because of NVIDIA/AMD but because of the laptop manufacturers because they’ve tested only that driver and don’t provide warranty if you install anything other. NVIDIA and AMD has no choice, they cannot publish things that cause the loss of warranty of the hardware. Laptops are always preconfigured in a way that you can use it stably. Unfortunately this means that you cannot be up-to-date with all the drivers.

Same for a Dell desktop, however on a desktop it is possible to install a nvidia/AMD driver.

I still don’t understand.
