Problem loading NVB files

I’ve decided to use NVB files to export my 3d studio max 6 scenes to my own application.
I used NVIDIA’s CgFX viewer source code for loading the NVB files.

The problem is that when the import finsihes all the vertices have zeros for z values. All other
data is intact.

Does anyone else has this problem?

In case I can’t solve this problem, can anyone recommend other good file format to export models from 3DS Max or Maya with support for vertex skinning?
