Hello, I have a Geforce FX5900 Ultra, with NVIDIA’s 44.03 drivers installed under Windows XP Professional, and when I go to play Counter-Strike in OpenGL mode, it gives me this error:
“The selected OpenGL mode is not supported by your video card.”
Any help would be appreciated

Well, let’s start simply.
Do you have the latest update of Counterstrike?

Do you receive that message in any other OpenGL application?

I just checked Warcraft III by adding -opengl to the shortcut, and it loaded fine.
Hmmm… Why would it work in one game and not the other?

Well, it means you have a problem with Half-Life.
Either the 5900 has an issue or your copy of HL is a problem.

It isn’t the card nor the game. The Nvidia driver is the problem try to use a older WHQL certified driver. This fixed the problem for me.
