OpenGL BuGLe FPS and becnhmark

Hello I am in need of a way to get FPS of a application that is already compiled to a log file.
Basicly I need to to a benchmark of that application.

So I found out BuGLe and I made it work like I intend to.
But I am still not 100% happy.
This is why:

First is there a way to specify a the sample period of the FPS in BuGLe?
Second what is the impact in performance of using BuGLe to get the FPS of that application?
