well, it not about programing bugs, but i dont know who else to turn to. everytime i start my computer, the nview setup starts. everytime. no matter if i installed a hunderd times already, it keeps poping up at startup.
one other thing, i dont know if it is related to the drivers, but im using XP, and my task manger dissapears when i open it. so i cant close applications that get stuck or something.
those problems started after installing the new drivers. any ideas?
thnx.
If you haven’t done an uninstall/reinstall of the display drivers using Add/Remove Programs, please try that. I’ve heard stories of people having problems directly upgrading from pre 40.xx drivers to 40.xx or better. Just a guess.
Pat
i have done that. but thnx ill try the utility.
The lastest 40.09 or smthn, that WHQL CANDIDATE is candidate to kill your computer. After installing that crap NFSHP2 & NHL2003 didn’t run at all, after opening media center, everything hanged even on XP Pro, despite the fact I uninstalled last WHQL 4x.xx drivers.
I’like NVIDIAs products & drivers, but last ones are totalllll crap I recommend you to get back to previous 4x.xx drivers (WHQL certified)

If you are talking about so-called “leaked” drivers, then every web site that offers them says “use at your own risk”.
I don’t think I ever had lots of problems with official releases (anyway, I always use leaked ones!).
Regards.
Eric
I have used leaked drivers and usually they’re OK, but currently I’m speaking about http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_41.09 , they arn’t quite leaked
EDIT: If link dosn’t work, remove “,” at the end.

Sorry, I didn’t realise you were talking about these ones. I think I tried them and can’t remember any problem though…

currently i have lot of trouble with this driver revision.
since the last driver release, i got suddenly more bugreports from customers with configurations which worked before.(ie: AthlonXP/GF4)
i am currently trying to reproduce this bug.(actualy, i am downloading this driver right now…)
where can i get an older version, but not too old?
I never had problems with any driver version on my home PC. The 41.xx series, however, resulted in numerous crashes on my PC at work.
There’s a leaked 42.09 driver now that solved all of my problems. Maybe you should give that one a try.

Yes, lots of bugs with the latest nvidia drivers…some off the top of my head:
err…that oh-so-innovative little panel that pops out of the side of the display properties dialog locks up my XP home machine. Who’s mad idea was that little panel? They must have been smoking diesel when they thought of that one…
Quadro4 9tap antialiasing option simply fails to show up on my work machine.
Really bad quality control, that. I emailed nvidia about these bugs 2 or 3 weeks ago, but they didn’t even reply to thank me. I shan’t bother in future, I’ll just bitch about them publicly on newsgroups
So, you say ATI’s drivers have improved? Maybe I’ll give the 9700 a try…

Dunno, I think that floating panel is SUPER, no need to click a lot, the problem is with xx.09 drv coz others worked just fine.
