Does anyone know if there is a way to load 3ds max (.MAX) files in opengl? Or a way you can convert them to MilkShape, or Quake files? or does anyone know of a good modeler, that is very similar and good like 3dSmax?


The best way to import files from 3dsmax is to ask 3dsmax to export them to the .ASE format. this is an ascii format, very explicit to read. just open an ASE file in a text editor, you’ll see it’s very simple to understand. There are also ready-to-use ASE loaders to download - just seek the archives of this site, I remember that there was one six months ago.
