Loading .X

I need to load .X files and I hope someone has written a lib or something. Please help!

I’m sorry I don’t have the lib you’re looking for but few months ago, i have found it.I don’t remember where…maybe in Nate Robins’ tutors.
So you’ve got the proof that it does exist!.And you can do it yourself, since it’s quite easy to find information about .x’s structure.

I’ll try to find it again next week, so don’t feel desperate…

Merci
I’ll try to find it

I found this in a forum:
"
The .X file has no specific static structure.

The structure of the file is defined by templates which change depending upon the type of mesh and what program it’s exported from.

I gave up writing my own .X file importer and used MS’s own D3DX classes to import the file.
You should be able to find more info on how to import .X files in the MSDN. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp)

In fact, a friend of mine wrote a very basic .x loader (only vertex and face) in order to load .x files from 3dsmax.These seem to be always the same in .x files. If you still need it, i’ll send it to you.
