Handling 444,565, rp8 formats in OpenGL

Could anyone please tell me how to handle 444,565,rp8 formats using OpenGL. Presently I am doing a porting from Glide SDK to OpenGL. Hence I want the above mentioned information.

not all cards handle formats the same. check the internal format demo on my site for examples of what u ask for is not what u get. like my answer i suppose
