why GLUT’s loop is so weak? I use glutMainLoop() after specifuing display, idle and keyboard functions, then load 3Ds model of about 23000 polygons. I have only 23-25 fps on GeForce 2! Is it normal? My colegue says that I do not use all acceleration. Is it possible? I thought that OpenGL initialisation algorythm is very stable, rather thru GLUT
Are you sure it’s GLUT’s mistake?
From the description it can be anything, from enabled vsync to fillrate or lighting limits or slow host processor or wrong pixelformats or bad OpenGL code.
More details would be necessary.
