GLSL wher is it...?

Hello,

I have recently downloaded the latest driver for my GeForce FX 5200 which supports OpenGL 1.5.
However, the GL_ARB_vertex/fragment_shader extensions are not present.
I wounder if nVIDIA is going to release them soon?

Thanks.

nVidia only supports GLSL in their beta drivers (57.10). But they’re only available to registered developer.
But have a look at:

Wow! interseting.

I would like to know if ATI has successfully implemented shaders?

My suggestion to all giant hw vendors is to ship their own API (like 3Dfx Glide), along with OpenGL, and quit Direct3D support cause it’s a real mess.

By the way, why 3Dfx closed???

ATI has glSlang-support in their drivers now for several months (4+, since Cat3.10). Although there are still some bugs in it, it’s already usefull.

3DfX went bankrupt in case you didn’t know.

Catalyst 4.4 seems to be quite stable. I didn’t have any problems with it yet.

3Dfx? what?
I thought that their products kick ass, especially with Glide.

1.) vertex & fragment shaders are available for quiet some time now for ATI as well as Nvidia.

2.) GLSL is build on top on vertex/fragment shaders.

3.) 3DFX went bust approx. 3 years ago. Where have you been?
