Frame Rate independent animation

Good Afternoon.

Whats the usual way to keep my OpenGL aplication animation time dependent instead of frame rate dependent ?
(That is , that the animation speed is that same regardless of the frame rate)

Measure the time-difference from the last frame to this frame and advance your animation by that amount, instead of a fixed step.
