For AMD GPU-s, are followings equivalent?

While studying, architecture, I came across dizzying array of terminology which I think I all sorted out but the most number of equivalent terms used for following entity. Basically each ALU within the SIMD is being referred by so many different names:
Shader unit
Streaming processor
ALU
Work item (software centric way)
PE-processing element

Is that case?
