Embedded GL and Mesa footprint

Thought, I’ld post here seeing as the Embedded OGL forum is dead!

Currently working on an Embedded Linux device. Does anyone know, or can reasonalbly estimate, the minimun footprint size for Mesa or any other Linux OGL. Would it be worth using OGL or writing custom graphics API, given that three will be no hardware acceleration and limited memory resources.

Here is something that I haven’t tried but heard about:

I believe that you will find regular OpenGL to be too slow without hardware accel. What are you trying to do with it?
