drawing bitmap-->Very slow

I have made a 3d scene but when i draw a bitmap(2d)on the scene, i have less than 1 FPS.
On the other hand, without bitmap drawing, i have more than 30 FPS.

What’s the problem?

How are you drawing the bitmap?
glDrawPixels by any chance?

Dont use that, its very slow.

Use a textured quad instead with Ortho Projection.
