Drag and Drop OpenGL objects

Can anyone give me some pointers about how to drag and drop OpenGL objects for a 3D jigsaw application. The objects will be simple polygons- cubes, cones etc and I’m using Visual C++. I’m sure there is a fairly simple way to do it, but I can’t find anything in the various books I’ve consulted about it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

you have to make use of the gl-selection mode. there’re some simple tutorials on how to use it on the web.

I’ve found plenty on selection, but nothing about using it to implement drag and drop. Any tutorial URLs or source code for some application that does this would be appreciated.
