Ati:s normalmapper

Has anyone got any good result with that tool? i see the examples, and yes, they looking good, but the tests ive done ( like for example a lores sphere to a hire sphere only gives a 0,0,1 result ( you know the light blue ) or for a goat i have i only get the normalmap to react when the highpoly model goes outside the lowpoly mesh, else just the blue color again…

I think the ATi normal mapper only uses the red channel, so if that channel isn’t representative as a heightmap you’ll get odd results. But you could fix that in the code, for instace you could use the luminance instead. Should be fairly straightforward to change.

I mean the one that makes normalsmaps out ouf a high and low poly mesh
