ATI / NVIDIA

What is the best graphic card in the market for OpenGL-enabled games?

  1. ATI RADEON 9800
  2. GEFORCE FX 5900
  3. Other

Billy.

don’t ask this question. do your own research.

Depends on the game. In Doom3 (and the games that’ll use its engine), nv seems to be the best
Other games : ati

Don’t forget that 90% of the users won’t buy such hardware, so you’d better get something more usual if you’re developping games.

oi, don’t answer him. Don’t get into ANOTHER flame war. If the poster REALLY didn’t know then he wouldn’t be making comments on the 3Dmark2003 thread.

he’s only stirring. stop it.

This is a perfectly valid question for the User Gamer and Hardware Forum, not the Coding: Advanced Forum. Unfortunately there’s no Trolling: Beginners Forum, so I guess you’re out of luck.

OT but ill answer the question. ATI right now seems like to be the better card for win DX games. But in the OpenGL area its shaky. They both crush each other in diffrent areas. If your going to use this on linux get the NVIDIA they have much better linux support. If your going to be using this mainly for win DX games get ATI. NVIDIA maybe be better for OpenGL though. google it and check www.tomshardware.com
